ESPN.com - NBA - Expert: Williams' shotgun could have misfired
"Could"?
I saw on CNN this morning that this expert, while he claims the shotgun "could" have fired by itself, was never able to actually make the gun fire without pulling the trigger. And one would assume he was trying pretty hard to make that happen, i.e. more than random chance would provide.
And in any case, the expert admits that there would still have had to have been some pressure exerted on the trigger even for it to "accidentally" fire.
For my money, if you're pointing a loaded gun at somebody with your finger on the trigger and it goes off, sorry charlie, you doned a bad thing.
Besides, you have to be guilty beyond a "reasonable" doubt, not beyond any miniscule out-of-left-field doubt you and your cronies can come up with.
