The Sound and the Fury
DAMN.
I didn't see the entire game, but what the fuck was up with that baserunning?
I have never understood the logic of sending a man from second -- also known as scoring position -- to third on a hit and run. Last night was the perfect example. I'm think A-Rod was out by about tweny feet.
OK, who's the slowest guy on the team? Probably Olerud, but Posada is a close second. So you send him from third on a relatively short fly? I know Green Light Willie loves to get them boys a runnin', but come on. And then, why didn't Posada unload on that catcher? Is there some unspoken code of honor between catchers?
The Yankees hit into 5 double plays last night. Jesus H Christ that's unbelievable.
Mike Mussina has a 5-6 playoff record, but you know if he was Andy Pettite or some other sufficiently lucky asshole, he could easily be 8-3. Maybe Mussina should be more sociable in the locker room and they'd hit better for him.
In any case, I think the Yankees have Mel Stottlemyre on the hill for them tonight so it should be a good one.
