It's their America, we just live in it
Since I live on Capitol Hill I see a lot of young staffers running about. Since staffers are either completely unpaid or make very little, I'd say that 99.99% of them have rich parents that bankroll their politco-hipster lifestyle.
Overheard on the street -- one guy in a group of about five staffers:
"I don't have ethics or morals ... I have principles."
