It's a madhouse ... a madhouse !!!
Today is the 60th anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. I don't really know whether dropping the bomb was the right thing to do or not, and I'm not inclined to second guess a decision that ended the worst war in the history of the world.
You've got to admit, though, that was a terrible thing to have happened. The power of an atomic bomb really is incomprehensible. And what we had back then is like a peashooter compared to today's bombs. That's the problem with the bomb -- its power is so far beyond our ability to imagine the effects that we can't properly understand how mad we are for having built them ... let alone used them.
I wonder if in my lifetime an atomic bomb will go off on a major city. That's fucking scary.
