Reality Check
Alright, I have officially had enough.
THE RANGERS ARE NOT BETTER BECAUSE A-ROD LEFT. PERIOD.
Michael Young is a nice player, but please explain to me sportswriters can reasonably say that the Rangers are a better team without A-Rod? Is it better for them long term? Sure, I'd agree with that.
The guy plays A+++ defense, hits for high average and power. He's a class guy, nobody's ever doubted that.
He was the best shortstop in the game, and now he's the best third basemen ... in the AL at least. I'll give Rolen his due for now.
But rest assured that in a few years, assuming the Yankees don't trade Jeter for a sack of flour and move A-Rod back to SS, Alex Rodriguez will be best third basemen ever.
